Either way, you're here now.
Let’s begin.

Mrs. OSINT followed it based on a tip she thought was solid, a possible trace on the new adversary she’s been tracking.
Someone who doesn’t just steal identities, but mimics them. Predicts movements. Lures devices into connecting with false networks.
The email felt urgent.
The location was strange, but possible.
The behavioral pattern matched her target.
But as she reaches the edge of town, she notices something unexpected:
Someone else is already here.
You're standing near the old cemetery, antenna raised, laptop open, focused on a signal that shouldn't exist. You're not here for a threat actor.
You're here investigating Specter of the Net, a digital phantom.
A signal that appears only in places where history hasn't let go.
Not supernatural...just unexplained.
When you compare notes, one thing becomes clear:
Mrs. OSINT was mislead into coming here.
But now that's she's here, the two of you decide to work together.
If Bodie holds traces of the past, maybe those traces connect to what's happening now.
Your task is simple:
Gather historical research on Bodie to determine who (or what) might be connected to the activity happening here.
If the past leaves a pattern, you're about to find them!
Mission Objectives
Answer using open-source research:
1. Where did the first Bodie fire take place? What year?
2. Bodie is preserved today in a state of " _____ _____." (fill in the official term)
3. When was Bodie at its peak population and what was the approximate population at the time?
4. What caused Bodie's decline?
5. A young girl once wrote a line as her family moved to Bodie. What did she write?
